Children whose families fled the aftermath of Hurricane Maria were welcomed as part of a new family Saturday — the New Haven family.
State Rep. Juan Candelaria offered that welcome at a Three Kings Day celebration at John C. Daniels School.
Three local leaders — Jhonathan Rivera, State Rep. Al Paolillo, and Joseph Rodriguez, an aide to U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal — dressed as the three kings and distributed donated gifts to some 300 children, many of whom are among the 180 kids who have relocated from Puerto Rico to New Haven since the hurricane.
